Unexpected absence
Hi all. I've been away from the blogging world for the last 2 months, due to a death in the family. I hope to be back to it in a week or two, at which time I'll try to summarize what has happened in the world of metal stamping (short version: a lot) in the last 2 months.

man that is horrible! I have always loved your blog, please take care of what ever you need to take care of and get back to us soon.
So to hear of a loss in your family...
Speaking of; I am about to inherit factory in the midwest. It is about 100,000 sq/ft and contains all things metal stamping and fabricating. Used solely in the auto industry - but hell I can put any die in a press right - i mean right sized and all - it is not like the press cares what industry for which it is working.
I have basic question - assuming no dies are owned by this facility - Can money be made in sheet metal stamping - starting from machines only? I mean, is there enough demand out there to justify the efforts to get it going?

Well, now, there's a good question.
Can money be made in metal stamping these days?
Anyone care to venture an answer?

Hello Michael,
I run a tool and die blog with some material that obviously overlaps. Would you like to add each other to our site's blogroll or other links? Give me a shout at marketingforward@yahoo.com
Thanks
Joe

Just stumbled upon your blog. Sorry to hear the bad news. I do look forward to your posts and learning as much about the stamping industry as possible. I am new to the steel/stamping industry and just looking to learn as much as possible.
Keep up the great work!
Keep up the great work!
Despite the tough economy, I'd have to say yes, there's still money to be made out there in the metal stamping industry.
